Peach & Gold Wedding Inspiration

I’ve gone Pinterest and Google images mad to bring you this peach and gold inspiration board today! I’ve had a thing for peach and gold for a while now, I like the fact it’s soft but also a bit glam at the same time. I also think you could easily have the colour palette fit into a wedding of any season, not just summer (which is pretty useful as I have been freezing the past couple of days, I think we need to wave goodbye to flip-flops and sun-tans). I’ve included some of my favourite roses, on the board  ‘Juliet’ by David Austin, and I love the peach and gold nails, an idea for your bridesmaids perhaps?  Enjoy!

If you fancy looking at some more inspiration boards, I’m over on Pinterest,  I spent far too much time on there yesterday creating a lovely little mint green board!

Oh, and have you had a chance to look at my previous posts? There’s some stunning vintage inspired lingerie and a couple of unusual wedding films to swoon over!

Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley’s Lingerie Collection for M&S

I wouldn’t normally blog about something like this as lingerie doesn’t set my heart on fire. I like having nice bras and knickers but I don’t spend an awful lot of money on them.  Also, Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley hasn’t really ever been on my radar even if she is exceptionally beautiful.

However, yesterday as I was browsing through a copy of ‘Stylist’ magazine on the tube, I spotted an ad for her new lingerie collection for M&S and I have to say,  the lingerie is really, really gorgeous and I want it all! I’ve haven’t got this excited about knickers since forever.

Lovely, lovely lingerie from M&S

The collection is vintage inspired and I think the patterns and colours look expensive. The most expensive bra is £35 which for me, is fairly pricy but I think I’d stretch to this. I’ve got my eye on all the deco style sets and the rose printed set. If you’re looking to treat yourself to some wedding night underwear, I really think Rosie is your gal!

Oooh, I like the olive green set too, and the lilac cami and french knickers, and the….. arggh! If like me, you’re loving this collection, it launches tomorrow! I think you should be quick… I may have purchased them all.

*This is not a promotion, I just really liked the collection and thought I’d feature it 🙂

Beautiful Stop Motion Wedding Films by Bayly & Moore

Whilst I was planning my own wedding,  I came across this amazing stop-motion film of Jenny and Graziano’s Wedding in Italy.  I watched it quite a few times and even ended up in tears as I think it captures the day so beautifully (I’ve just watched it again and had a moment).

I would’ve loved a stop motion film for our wedding, but the film-makers in question Bayly & Moore are based in New Zealand. However,  I did hear that they make trips to Europe occasionally, so if you love this as much as I do, perhaps contact them and find out if they’re visiting any time soon! You can find their website here and their Vimeo site here (which has lots more lovely films to watch!).

I also love this film too, the wedding of Marina and Andy. I’m mad for the bride’s 50’s style and her choice of the bridesmaids outfits. It’s so beautiful and mega-inspirational… feast your eyes people!

Let me know what you think of the films and also if you know of anyone who does this in the UK!

1920’s wedding inspiration

I’m in love with Christina and Kyle’s wedding that was recently featured on the US blog,  One Hundred Layer Cake and photographed by Stephanie Godfrey.

I think the bride, Christina, looks stunning in her Jenny Packham dress and marcel waves! I love the colourful details too and the way the wedding looks both carefree and extremely glamorous all at the same time… Head on over to One Hundred Layer Cake for the full feature and also the wedding film based on ‘The Artist’.

Just BEAUTIFUL.

What to wear as a Wedding Guest.

I’m at the age now in which everyone is getting married and those invites are coming through the letter box thick and fast (well, not exactly, but there’s been more than usual). However,  my poor wardrobe isn’t keeping up and I need to sort it out.  So, with my cousin’s wedding rapidly approaching, I’ve been on the hunt for some lovely wedding staples for my ever-needy wardrobe.

I love this red belted shift dress from Reiss, and I think it would look great for a city wedding. Pair with nude heels, a clutch, some red lippie, sophisicated accessories and off you go.

For a do by the seaside, try a subtly themed outfit with this cute stripy dress. Again, pair with the nude heels (they go with everything, I must invest in a pair), beachy waves in your hair and pin a quirky vintage brooch to your dress or jacket, the one below reminds me of a seashell, but I’ve also seen loads of vintage art deco seahorse brooches which are beautiful!

A rustic, country affair suits the ‘floral’ look and this dress by Whistles fits the bill perfectly. I’ve picked out the coral-pink accent and chosen the accessories to match with this coral clutch and patent heels.  I’ve got a thing about bees, so I’m in love with this gold Bumblebee brooch, plus it works well with the floral/country design.   N.B If you haven’t heard already, bees are in great danger of becoming extinct and without them, we are in trouble. Neals Yard Remedies recently launched their ‘Bee Lovely’ campaign in order to help save the bees.  Click here for some useful info on the subject.

If you’re lucky enough to be invited to a black tie wedding, don’t be shy! The Bride and Groom will be looking forward to seeing their guests dressed to the nines! I’ve opted for a chic nude & champagne palette for this look whilst also including this season’s ‘top knot’ hair style. I would love to be able to do this with my hair but it’s too fine!

Trawling the internet and looking at these images has made me really want to go shopping (oh dear) I hope this has given you a little inspiration for any upcoming weddings you’re attending!
